What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gate Attendant-Full time-40 hours position at Cemetery Tours NOLA LLC?
Gate Attendants are an integral part of the operation of Tours of St. Louis Cemetery No. 1, combining a vibrant personality, helpful demeanor, and professional communication skills to manage access to St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 front gates. Stationed outdoors, at the gates of St. Louis Cemetery No. 1, Gate Attendants manage the entry/exit point: opening the Gates for approved Cemetery Tour groups - collecting tickets from Tour Patrons as they pass - closing the Gates behind the Tour Group. The gate attendant is a control point, but managed in the most positive and experience enhancing ways. The Gate Attendant is also prepared to provide guest services to anyone approaching the gate unfamiliar with our tours, to provide field support to Tour Groups inside of the Cemetery as needed. They will regularly inspect the Tour Route / Tour groups and ensure company staff and tour patrons properly adhere to all safety and preservation protocols. Access control only, No cash transactions on-site.

Gate Access
- Allowing cemetery access to the Cemetery for pre-approved individuals: ticketed tour patrons in an escorted tour group, CTN or NOCC staff members, and Family Pass holders.
- Redirecting all individuals to the Cemetery Tour Desk in Basin St. Station for ticketing & tour guides.
- Denying cemetery access to those who do not qualify.
- Redirecting cemetery visitors to New Orleans Catholic Cemeteries for Family Pass information.
Guest Services
- Providing a service to Tour Groups entering the cemetery by offering a congenial welcome as tickets are collected from Tour Group Members.
- Directing potential clients to the Tour Desk in Basin St Station to purchase. Directing clients with pre-purchased tickets to the Tour Desk in Basin St Station for ticketing.
- Responding to questions about cemetery tours, distributing general information, promoting tour services.
Safety and Security
- Assisting company staff members in any incident or situation inside or outside cemetery premises and contacting emergency responders (Fire/Police/EMS) as needed, and notifying the Tour Supervisor.
- Maintaining Tour Route and Entryway in an orderly fashion, free of litter, debris, or inappropriate items.
- Following all safety, emergency, and reporting policies
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspecting the cemetery and group behaviors to ensure all who enter the Cemetery adhere to policies for safety and preservation, and enforcing policies immediately in the event of an infraction.
- Reporting messages to Tour Supervisor, including but not limited to suggestions for safety and security at the cemetery or/and safety concerns from guests, affiliates, colleagues.
- Preserving the professional, thankful and delightful image of the company
