As a Concrete Mixer Truck Operator at Cemstone, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our high-quality ready-mix concrete products to construction job sites.
You will be responsible for safely operating our mixing trucks and equipment, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines, and maintaining excellent communication with our dispatch team and customers.
The ideal candidate will possess a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) and be able to pass a Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical examination to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
In addition to your technical skills and qualifications, you will also need to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the mixing truck to ensure it is in good working condition and compliant with D.O.T. regulations.
- Fill the water tank before each delivery by attaching a rubber hose and filling the tank after checking that all valves are shut.
- Receive delivery tickets and drive or back the truck under the plant (depending on the plant configuration) and charge the mixer to receive concrete, taking any admixtures or other ancillary products listed on the ticket.
- Safely drive the truck to the jobsite and arrive with the desired slump within customer or job specifications.
- Maneuver the truck in unstable ground conditions and observe customer equipment and conditions.
- Add necessary ingredients such as fibers, chemicals, foam admixtures, cements, or integral colors at the plant or jobsite, as well as other products.
- Place chutes from the fender or hanging rack onto the main chute at the rear of the truck for discharge and wash the chutes in the washout system or other designated area after completion.
- Complete all paperwork and collect moneys, if necessary, before leaving the jobsite.
- Wash the truck with a hose and brush after each shift, using a cleaning solution when necessary.
- Communicate with dispatch via two-way radio and truck status signaling system.
- Turn in completed paperwork at the end of the shift and store cash COD in a locked box.
- Call the schedule each day for start time and perform a post-trip inspection of the truck pursuant to D.O.T. regulations.
- Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers and promote a professional image and reputation for the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
