GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant Technician provides maintenance services and assists in a wide variety of maintenance activities. This position assists skilled trades and ensures that tools, materials, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in good working order and available at branch locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform general facility infrastructure upkeep. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
2. Assist with exterior maintenance including lawn care, power washing, and daily trash pick-up. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
3. Remove or paint over graffiti. This duty is performed as needed, about 1% of the time.
4. Report unsafe electrical conditions. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
5. Assist with preventive maintenance including filter changes, oiling of mechanical systems. This duty is performed as needed, about 20% of the time.
6. Maintain assigned vehicle. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
7. Respond to emergency situations during regular working hours and after hours, for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. This duty is performed as
needed, about 5% of the time.
8. Clean drive-thru lanes and ATMs. This duty is performed quarterly, about 5% of the time.
9. Assist with moving furniture and equipment. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.
10. Respond to management and tenant requests to address problems within the building in a timely manner. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
11. Ensure proper use and care of assigned laptop computer. This duty is performed daily, about 100% of the time.
12. Process and maintain paperwork and receipts. This duty is performed daily.
13. Maintain shared storage and warehouse space. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
14. Remove snow and ice to ensure workplace safety for employees and customers. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
15. Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work sites. This duty is performed daily, about 100% of the time.
16. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
17. Completes required BSA/AML training and all other required training sessions, as assigned.
18. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
