Duration: 12 Months Contract
Description:
The Infrastructure Architect proactively leads and supports architecture activities that guide the development and management of technical and infrastructure solutions. The role involves creating artifacts to develop target-state guidance, ensuring agility and scalability to meet current and future business needs. The Infrastructure Architect works with a broad range of technologies, including data center infrastructure, cloud, mobile, smart manufacturing, and edge computing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Outcomes & Value Delivery:
- Collaborate with business representatives, process owners, and IT subject matter experts to design efficient, value-adding solutions.
- Ensure scalability and flexibility in technical architecture.
- Oversee and consult on technology changes, updates, and implementations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures.
2. Future-State Technology Architecture:
- Analyze technology industry trends to determine their impact on the enterprise and existing architecture.
- Align technical architecture with business and IT strategies.
- Periodically review technology roadmaps and assess alignment with internal and external environments.
3. Technology Evaluation & Analysis:
- Guide technology investment decisions to drive business outcomes while ensuring non-functional requirements are met.
- Conduct periodic technical environment analysis to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for their practical applications in evolving business models.
- Define metrics to measure technology value.
- Support governance and standards compliance for technology architecture.
Required Skills:
- Minimum five years of IT design and implementation experience.
- Expertise in data center technologies, including advanced cooling systems, fire suppression, and energy-efficient power solutions.
- Hands-on experience with server hardware, storage, virtualization, and operating systems.
- Understanding of lifecycle management, configuration management, impact, and risk analysis.
- Experience specifying on-premise server hardware and storage technologies.
- Ability to derive infrastructure hardware specifications and validate vendor quotations.
- Knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as backups, monitoring, and automation tools.
- Strong understanding of security technologies (SIEMs, PKI, IDS/IPS, encryption, and firewalls).
- Experience with identity-related technologies (LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, MFA, and RBAC).
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and platforms.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with IT standards and controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture components.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and ITIL.
- Understanding of database operations.
- Experience with modeling languages (UML, ArchiMate).
- Knowledge of compliance standards (NIST 800-171, DFARS, Export Control, CMMC 2.0).
