DELI SERVICE MANAGER

Statement of the Job

Provide excellent customer service while preparing food service menu items for sale. Promote deli sales by maintaining warmer cases according to build guides and holding times. Work with Franchise Business Consultants to further the success of Franchised Food Service areas.

The Duties and Responsibilities Are

A. General Management

• Perform all tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Develop work schedule for all deli shifts with Store manager.
• Must be available to cover shifts as needed.
• Ensure all concepts have items available throughout hours of service.
• Maintain a safe and fun work environment.
• Have and maintain valid “Food Managers License”.
• Assist Store Manager with applicant interviews and hiring.
• Train and continue to train all team members assigned to the deli (food safety, date, label, product rotation, etc.).
• Order and manage deli food/supply to maintain established pars.
• Perform and record accurate monthly deli inventories.
• Meet and exceed both Hot Stuff and Chester standards.
• Pass all state and Steritech inspections.
• Develop and implement shift duties.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly).
• Develop and implement prep lists.

B. Personnel

• Responsible for alerting the Store Manager to personnel situations or policy violations that may have an adverse effect on the store’s operating performance.

C. Security

• Protecting company assets at all times.
• Report security concerns to Store Manager whenever a situation occurs
• Be able to react to a fire by lifting a fire extinguisher weighing 25 pounds and moving it to the fire area.

D. The Requirements for the Job

• Be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
• Be able to perform arithmetical calculations at the eighth-grade level and account for a number of products during vendor check-in.
• Have sufficient visual acuity to operate handheld devices.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances.
• Be able to stand, bend, kneel, and reach for up to 10 hours.
• Be able to climb a ladder.
• Be able to work around hot ovens and in deli areas occasionally warmer than average room temp.
• Be able to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 38 degrees up to 60 minutes at a time.
• Be able to enter and work in a freezer at -10 degrees up to 20 minutes.
