About This Opportunity
Cenovus’s New Grad Program aims to attract, develop, and retain Finance and Business new grads to join a dynamic and exciting 3-year rotational program . The program provides new grads with a broad understanding of Cenovus’s core business through diverse work assignments, training and development, and the opportunity to develop a large network of contacts through networking and mentorship opportunities.
Our Program consists of three consecutive 12-month rotational assignments that span Cenovus’s varied business areas. Roles could include placement in Finance, Accounting, Portfolio Risk Management, and/or Finance Information Delivery. An example of a breadth of rotational experience could include the following:
During the three-year program you will be expected to be open to relocating to any of Cenovus’s operating sites for your rotations and/or your end-of-program placement. Upon completion of the three-year program, you will be matched to a permanent role within the organization. This role will be based on business needs and relocation may be required.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Leveraging analytical practices and tools to understand and explain deal price exposure from both physical and financial commodity transactions
- Supporting and ensuring adherence to market risk management policy, standards, and procedures across the organization
- Managing fixed assets by tracking all acquisitions, disposals and transfer of assets, maintaining the fixed asset subledger, and preparing related reporting
- Understanding and utilizing the quantitative scoring models as a guide in the credit risk decision making process; learning to define risk, understanding and applying mitigation, participating in contract negotiation, and recommending credit limits as part of the counterparty and vendor approval process
- Stewarding towards strong data integrity; working with the business to ensure data quality standards are set and maintained; escalating data integrity issues as required
- Researching and resolving data quality and/or reporting issues
- Being a key systems resource on complex and/or critical issues while working towards development of innovative solutions
- Assisting with preparation of materials (reports and presentations) for the Cenovus Leadership Team on the budget and business plan
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Legally entitled to work in United States
- Available to begin work June 2025
- Must have an undergraduate Accounting, Finance or Commerce related program degree obtained by May 31, 2025, or completed within the last 2 years (2023, 2024 or 2025)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with an ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful insights
- Proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and an eagerness to adapt, take on challenges and find new ways of looking at problems and processes
- Demonstrated attention to detail
