Duties: Research, design, develop and test Instrument and Electrical (“I&E”) equipment. Utilize leading edge technologies in the monitoring, evaluation, maintenance, repair, selection, and upgrading of I&E equipment and standards to maximize unit availability and performance. Work with other engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel, as well as industry experts, in both project and day-to-day support roles. Perform Technical Support, Troubleshooting, I&E Design, Reliability, Maintenance, Project Engineering, and Special Projects. In this role you will be subject to some emergency call out as well as Turnaround work schedules. Review engineering projects and improvements to ensure compliance with refinery standards and good engineering practice. Provide technical support for maintenance activities to unit operations and the I&E shop. Directs critical activities requiring Instrument & Electrical knowledge and expertise. Provides technical input in determining priority and scope of I&E equipment repairs. Directs the efforts of third-party design engineering and construction contractors. Ensures that the appropriate level of troubleshooting, failure analysis, and technical solutions are employed. Work within multi-discipline team to identify and manage I&E reliability improvement opportunities. Demonstrates the ability to share I&E knowledge across organizational boundaries to achieve consensus. Offers peer leadership & technical guidance to achieve common goals.
Location: 4001 Cedar Point Rd., Oregon, Ohio 43616. Domestic travel within the U.S. is required approximately 10% of the time for client meetings. Occasional international travel to Canada may be necessary 1-2 times a year for conferences and client meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor – Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field of study; will accept equivalent foreign degree.
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, Instrumentation Engineer, Project Engineer, Control Engineer or related engineering role; Experience must include the following:

- Ensure projects meet refinery standards and direct third-party contractors.

- Conduct Turnaround I&E activities, field commissioning, and develop critical alarm and safety testing procedures.
