Key Responsibilities:
As a Kennel Assistant, you play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and comfort of our patients and boarders. Duties include:
- Animal Care: Walking, feeding, administering basic medications, and monitoring the appetite, eliminations, and behavior of boarding animals.
- Sanitation & Organization: Cleaning kennels, maintaining organized spaces, and adhering to PACFA standards for facility cleanliness.
- Client & Team Support: Assisting receptionists and technicians as needed while maintaining a professional appearance, especially when interacting with the public.
- Animal Welfare: Providing affection and enrichment to the animals in our care while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 17 years old.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proven history of reliability and responsibility in previous work or extracurricular activities.
- Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle large, active dogs (50-100 lbs.).
- Work on your feet for extended periods (4 hours per shift).
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and stooping.
Schedule & Availability:
This is a part-time position, typically 10-24 hours per week. Shifts may include:
- Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM & Noon – 1:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM & 10:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Weekends & Holidays are required.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: Starting at $14.81 per hour
