GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Data Analyst is responsible for administering and executing the configuration management process, closely monitoring CMDB health, and optimizing its performance. This position collaborates with IT System Administrators and process owners to maintain accurate and up to date CMDB data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitors and troubleshoots the performance of the ServiceNow environments (Dev, Test, and Production Instances). This duty is performed daily, about 30% of the time.
2. Conducts routine health assessments of environments, ensuring peak performance and availability. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.
3. Implements and maintains ServiceNow security policies, roles, and access controls to ensure data confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
4. Ensures the CMDB adheres to best practices for the Common Service Data Model (CSDM). This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.
5. Validates and updates configuration items (CIs) within the CMDB on a consistent basis. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
6. Collaborates with process owners to maintain accurate and relevant CI information. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
7. Manages and optimizes ServiceNow Discovery processes. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
8. Coordinates with stakeholders to identify and onboard new Cis. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
9. Troubleshoots and resolves discovery-related issues promptly. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
10. Maintains comprehensive documentation related to CMDB processes, procedures, and configurations. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
11. Generates reports on CMDB health, data accuracy, and compliance. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.
12. Participates in supporting the asset management process by auditing inventory, gathering processes, and developing leadership reporting strategies to comply with auditing requirements. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
13. Supports and provides input for the implementation of the IT Service Management roadmap. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.
14. Cooperates in reporting on key metrics for each ITIL discipline. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.
15. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly.
16. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
17. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format; ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow CMDB administration and configuration.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- ITIL Foundation V3 or V4 Certification.
-ServiceNow certification (e.g., Certified Implementation Specialist - CMDB) preferred.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
Intermediate: Alphanumeric Data Entry, Contact Management, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
Basic: 10-Key, Accounting, Database, Presentation/PowerPoint, Programming Languages

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Required experience and education:
- Three (3) years of required experience and/or training
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another related field.
