GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The SBA & USDA Loan Servicing Assistant is responsible for assisting the SBA Portfolio Managers with their daily tasks and responsibilities to maintain the integrity of the SBA / USDA loan and the annual review requirements, in addition to reporting requirements. This position must remain aware of and adhere to established policies and procedures, while ensuring alignment with bank and government regulations (SBA & USDA).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Pull Credit Reports, LexisNexis, Dunn & Bradstreet and any supporting documentation needed to complete the annual review. This duty is performed daily 20% of the time.

2. Prepare and submit "Annual Review" letters to send to the borrowers / guarantors to request updated financials / tax returns, financial statements, etc. and upload into the borrower folder / file in order for the Portfolio Managers to complete the annual review. This duty is performed daily 25% of the time.

3. Assist the SBA & USDA Loan Servicing Specialist, as needed. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

4. Assist the SBA & USDA Packager (and other areas of the Dept), as needed, with pulling reports to complete the "packaging" of new loans. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

5. Learn (and back-up the SBA & USDA Loan Servicing Specialist) the preparation of the 1502 (Colson) Report. This duty is performed monthly, about 20% of the time.

6. Provide customer service to lenders and SBA Portfolio Managers including answering inquiries related to loan files, account balances, and payoff requests for SBA 7a and USDA B&I loans. This duty is performed daily, about 50% of the time.

7. Submit SBA loan deferment and modification documents to loan servicing and E-Tran. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

8. Assist portfolio managers with preparation of loan servicing actions and E-Tran servicing adjustments. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

9. Prepare and submit notices to the borrower for late payments, collection,

default, and liquidation. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

10. Contact the Loan Officer / BDO or Collateral Site Inspection vendor to perform required site inspections for all loans more than 50 days past due; and annual site inspections as required by the SBA SOP. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

11. Assist the Portfolio Managers with "tracking" ticklers and pipeline reports. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

12. Upload loans into E-Tran / CAFS / SBA One, new loans (request SBA Authorization), modifications, etc. This duty is performed as needed, 20% of the time.

13. Maintain pipeline report / daily calendar. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.

14. Update and Monitor the SBA Watch List for all SBA / USDA loans. This duty is performed weekly, about 5% of the time.

15. Orders valuation updates and appraisals on real estate collateral. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.

16. Obtains loan payoffs for borrower, Centennial employees (Loan Officers / Loan Officer Assistants / Credit Risk Management). This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

17. Track and resolves technical exceptions. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

18. Complete required BSA / AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly, about 5% of the time.

19. Prepare and maintain procedures for job related duties. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.

20. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, etc. Equivalent of 2 years related experience and / or training.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; Ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry and trigonometry.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Administrative duties, payment processing, credit reporting, loan modifications, loan packaging and review, basic accounting skills

Preferred :

  • SBA 7a & USDA knowledge of the SOP / Regulations for servicing and liquidation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to SBA 7a products.
  • Knowledge of the USDA B&I Program requested, not required; training will be provided for this program.
