ROLE SUMMARY
The Teller I performs financial transactions with speed, accuracy, and efficiency while meeting or exceeding customer service quality standards. They safeguard bank assets assigned to them and contribute to the growth of the bank by promoting and cross-selling banking products and services.

JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Processes cash transactions, handles negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers accurately and efficiently.
2. Sets up, closes, and balances the teller station as required.
3. Records sales of monetary instruments and maintains accurate records.
4. Assists customers with inquiries in person or by telephone, providing excellent customer service.
5. Maintains a neat and well-stocked teller area, adhering to bank policies and procedures.
6. Cross-sells banking products and services to meet customer needs and promote the growth of the bank.
7. Follows established limits for the protection of customer accounts and bank safety and soundness.
8. Adheres to bank policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
9. Lifts coin bags weighing up to 50 pounds as required.
10. Assists with balancing Vault, ATM, Night Drop, and Coin Machine as assigned, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
11. Assists with proper scanning of bank documents and proof work, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
12. Exercises judgment when applying holds and making check cashing decisions, prioritizing customer satisfaction and security.
13. Cross-trains to be available to open basic new consumer accounts, expanding knowledge and skills.
14. Adheres to work schedule, being flexible and available to meet changing business needs.
15. Maintains a positive, friendly, and professional attitude and appearance at all times.
16. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team.
17. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned, staying up-to-date on regulatory requirements.
18. Performs any other related duties as required or assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines are essential. Equivalent to four years of high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, performing mathematical skills using money and other forms of measurement.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to use common sense understanding in order to carry out simple multi-step instructions, dealing with standardized situations with limited variables.

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
BASIC: 10-Key, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
