Job Description
Our growing construction firm is looking for a dedicated BIM/Prefab Manager. This position would implement and lead our BIM team. The goal for our BIM/Prefab Manager is to develop and implement corporate-wide standards, technology, training, and protocols throughout our electrical contracting firm. This position would be the first on our internal BIM/VDC team and ultimately would be in charge of growing and overseeing day-to-day operations of the BIM/VDC division. The ideal candidate would excel at being a self-starter, with skills in design development, design coordination, clash detection at early project stages, project management, excellent communication skills including both verbal and written.
· Lead strategic improvement of all BIM/VDC standards, process, and tools.
· Develop standard operating procedures/processes and implement within our BIM/VDC division for repetitive and repeatable end product for our field leaders and customers.
· Efficiently integrate Revit and BIM best practices for model management, BIM clash detection, BIM consulting, BIM process innovation, troubleshooting, training, specification data.
· Oversee and maintain technology portfolio, including current licensing, program maintenance and training records.
· Identify electrical constructability and repetitive assemblies in the model. Generate spool drawings and cut sheets using the BIM model for offsite prefabrication. Oversee and manage the prefabrication process using lean six sigma best practices.
· Lead the Trimble Total Station point layout on all construction projects
· Provide direct team training, skill development and a general understanding of what our BIM model can be used for to make our Project Managers, Field Leaders and overall construction projects more time efficient and cost effective.
· Lead model coordination sessions onsite or remote to consult or train the team as technology evolves and processes are improved.
· Understand company core values and policies and carry them out consistently
Required Experience
· Experience working with Autodesk products. Experience using Evolve electrical plugin is preferred but not required. (Revit/AutoCAD/BIM360/Navisworks)
· High level of proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks
· Experience in construction drawing creation for construction projects using BIM software
· Strong understanding of electrical code and electrical constructability. Construction field experience and installation for practical BIM layout and drawings.
BIM/VDC Coordinator Salary
· $90,000-$100,000
