What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Interventionist (Centennial Hills) (2025-2026 School Year) position at Centennial Hills Campus?
The Interventionist reports to the School Principal.
The goal of the Interventionist is to assist students who have been identified as at-risk with reading intervention to provide a continuum of support and help them get on grade level.
Instructional Responsibilities:
1. Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for math/reading services in
individual, and/or small group settings.
2. Identifies needs to guide the learning process toward student
achievement of the district’s math/reading content standards. Establishes clear objectives for
all lessons, units, and projects using formal and informal assessment data
obtained from students.
3. Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content
standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups
involved.
4. Creates a classroom environment and research-based program of study that is
conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
5. Performs other tasks related to the position, as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (POSITION EXPECTATIONS):
1.Knowledge of various methods of teaching math and reading to students who struggle in these areas.
2.Great organizational skills
3.Effective communication skills
4.One (1) year successful experience in administration/supervision is preferable
Education and/or Experience:
High school graduation or another equivalent (i.e., General Educational Development (GED), foreign equivalency, etc.).
