Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning & Delivery:
- Plan and deliver daily effective differentiated instruction
- Demonstrate knowledge of resources, student needs, curriculum (Wit & Wisdom and Fundations), content, and pedagogy
- Set clear instructional outcomes and design assessments to track student progress.
- Engage students in learning through creative questioning and quality discussions.
- Set instructional outcomes
- Communicate directions, expectations, procedures, and content with students.
- Establish a culture of learning by managing procedures and behavior effectively.
- Maintain up-to-date records of student behavior and progress.
- Foster an ongoing relationship centered on hopes and dreams to engage parents and families in their children’s academic success.
- Use data to inform and tailor instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Participate in the Center City PCS learning community via PLCs, campus/district professional development, and weekly campus-based grade-level planning sessions.
- Reflect on instructional practices by incorporating feedback and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
- Attend occasional school events outside of regular hours.
- Engage families by building positive relationships to support the student's academic and personal goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Following school-wide procedures for attire, behavior, and punctuality (teacher hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
- Attend and participate in occasional school events outside of regular school hours
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable subject area, as appropriate
- Passing Praxis scores
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (preferred)
- Strong ability to use data-driven instruction with demonstrated evidence of student growth.
- Familiarity with Common Core Shifts in ELA and Wit & Wisdom Curriculum (preferred)
- Demonstrates ability to use data to assess student learning, with evidence of growth
- References that reflect high standing with a past employer
- Able to lift up to 10 pounds and able to stand for long hours
