The Center for Aquaculture Technologies, a private aquaculture innovation and research company, is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Shrimp Hatchery Technician to take a lead role in shrimp husbandry and spawning, maintenance of recirculation water systems and general Facility maintenance and upkeep. This is a full-time, permanent position and will begin with the successful candidate reporting to the Facility Manager.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Being involved in all shrimp operations such as broodstock maturation and spawning, larval and juvenile rearing, and algae production
- Assess and adjust water chemistry parameters
- Operate recirculating water system (RAS) equipment
- Maintain accurate records and enter and retrieve data as required
- Assist the Research and Development team with ongoing experiments
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings
- Assist with aquatic system maintenance and building projects as assigned
- Must adhere to workplace safety protocols and comply with company health and safety guidelines
- Must be able to participate in an On-Call schedule for after-hours Facility alarms
Qualifications We Value on Your Resume:
- A minimum of 2 years work experience in a shrimp hatchery
- A sound understanding of all life stages of shrimp
- Experience with artificial insemination techniques
- A background in aquaculture, biology or aquatic sciences
Qualifications We Will Explore During The Interview Process:
- Experience working with RAS systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:
- Able to work a Tuesday to Friday or a Sunday to Thursday Schedule
- Working hours 8:00am to 4:30pm
- Full time, on site (must have reliable transportation)
