Teaching Artists, Youth Camp Programs
Center for Community Arts is currently seeking professional, practicing visual and performing artists to teach during seasonal camps as part of our youth programming. The ideal candidate will be motivated, energetic, have a strong professional background, and a passion for teaching in a community setting.
We are currently seeking teaching artist in the following areas:
- Dance (ballet, modern, contemporary, parent-child)
- Drama
- Fiber/Weaving
- Spoken Word/Creative Writing
- Visual Arts (Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking)
- Sculpture
- Digital Media
Key duties:
- Design and implement camp curriculum in your discipline (2-10 weeks depending on program).
- Provide individualized guidance and support for students with a range of skill and abilities.
- Work closely with Center for Community Arts’ Program Coordinator to implement the design and delivery of classes.
Ideal candidates:
- Have a BA or MA in the field of visual or performing art from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
- Experienced as a teaching artist in a classroom/community setting.
- Able to articulate critical thinking and other creative processes in the arts.
- Excellent communicators with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Working artists with a strong body of work.
Hours and Compensation:
This is a contract position; compensation is based on a flat-rate contract. 2025 10 session camp rate is: $3080/Full Day or $1540/Half Day.
Summer Camps 2025 Dates:
Camps run Monday through Friday 9am to 12:15pm for Half – Day Morning Camps, 1pm to 4pm for Afternoon Specialty Camps, and 9am to 4pm for Full Day Camps.
- Camp 1 – June 9-20 (9-sessions) *No Camp June 19
- Camp 2 – June 23-July 3 (9-sessions) *No Camp July 4
- Camp 3 – July 7-18 (10-sessions)
- Camp 4 – July 21-August 1 (10-sessions)
