Center for Community Resources Butler County is looking for a compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to work alongside client and community supports. The Certified Peer Specialist will utilize their own recovery to assist the client with their own treatment and develop a trusting, professional relationship based on empathy and understanding.
Qualifications:
· The Certified Peer Specialist will assist peers in developing their individual service plans and use these plans to encourage engagement in resources, provide mental health education and support individual recovery.
· The support does not stop with the client, the Certified Peer Specialist will also attend community events and meetings to help advocate and promote local resources. Through these activities and face-to-face meetings with the client, the Certified Peer Specialist will set goals such as life skills and help them make their own decisions regarding care and treatment.
· The Certified Peer Specialist will maintain scheduled appointments and meet utilization standards. The majority of the Certified Peer Specialists' work will take place during face-to-face meetings with the client at the client's chosen location.
· Provide assistance and encouragement in accessing appropriate services to maintain living, learning and working in the community.
· Educate clients, family members and community providers about recovery-oriented services.
· Teach skills needed to make informed life decisions and increase life management skills.
· Maintain utilization requirements.
· Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the agency.

The hours for these positions are day and evening. This gives you an opportunity to pick a schedule that best suits your needs/lifestyle. This creates a great work-life balance. However, you must be flexible to work weekends. $14.00/hour.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
REQUIRED: Certified Completion of a Peer Specialist Certification training curriculum approved by the Department of Public Welfare.
Experience: Maintained at least 12 months successful full-time or part-time paid or voluntary work OR obtained at least 24 credit hours of post-secondary education. Applicant must identify themselves as a mental health consumer and/or in substance abuse recovery as defined in the Medical Assistance Handbook.
Requirements: Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required. Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply. EOE/ADA
