The Center for Developmental Services of California (CDS) provides a Supported Living Services (SLS) program for disabled adults called Options Forward. As a team member of Options Forward you are responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all of our clients. Your primary duty is to provide the highest quality of life through the highest quality of service to meet the needs and desires of each individual. Our goal is to help create safe independent living environments for our consumers so they can be involved and safe in the communities they live in. Additionally, our program provides a Crisis Response Team (CRT) for those moments when an individual is in need of extra support to get through the more stressful times of life. The Options Forward team is an integral part of each consumer's life and is there to help them problem solve and navigate the details of daily life.
Week in the life of an Options Forward Employee:
Sunday: Receive your schedule from admin via the scheduling app on your phone as well as a text message notification that your schedule has been published.
Scheduled Work Day: Open the scheduling app and click on the address for GPS directions to your scheduled location. Upon arrival at your scheduled shift, open the scheduling app again and clock in.
- Assist, monitor, or teach consumers how to complete day to day tasks and activities. These activities include, but are not limited to: cleaning, laundry, bathing, changing clothes, using the restroom, medication assistance, grocery shopping, meal preparation, and social skills development.
- Track and document consumers' progression towards yearly goals.
Ending Your Scheduled Work Day: Open the scheduling app once more and clock-out of your shift, adding any additional notes as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Help them maintain safe standards in their home or apartment.
- Assist, monitor, or teach consumers budgeting skills.
- Handle emergency situations appropriately and utilize crisis interventions when necessary.
- Teach and/or support consumers in utilizing public transportation. Transport individual(s) to appropriate appointments and other duties as assigned.
- Supporting medical appointments & meetings with social workers.
- Providing care in a 1:1 or 2:1 (2 staff) ratio in the consumers private residence.
Requirements:
- Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train you. We provide M1 MAB, CPR/First Aid training and more for all employees at no cost.
- You must pass a background check, we roll our fingerprints in-house at no cost.
- You must pass a tuberculosis (TB) test at our partner facility at no cost.
- You are professional and believe in treating clients and co-workers with respect and dignity.

What Shifts are we hiring for?
- We are looking for staff with as open availability as possible.
- Our Shifts include 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, 3:00pm to 10:00pm, 10:00pm to 8:00am.
- We staff Monday through Sunday, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- We have Part-Time and Full-Time Positions Available.
- Due to growing demands for our support we are currently looking to hire at least 6 new team members.
