Anne Arundel County Government is currently hiring for a full-time, permanent position of Data Coordinator (Program Specialist II) within the Department of Inspections and Permits.
This is program management support work carrying out assignments in operational programs requiring knowledge of a range of program issues to perform a variety of assignments.
NATURE AND VARIETY OF WORK

NATURE AND VARIETY OF WORK
- Work involves responsibility for performing moderately complex projects.
- Work involves responsibility for utilizing professional accounting knowledge and skills.
- Work includes balancing accounts and preparing various regular and special accounting reports, and it sometimes extends to the development and installation of new or revised systems.
- Work includes collecting, organizing, maintaining, and analyzing data within the department, ensuring data accuracy and integrity by managing databases, performing data entry, cleaning, validation, and generating reports to support decision-making.
- Work is performed independently within established policies, procedures, and accounting techniques and is reviewed by superiors through conferences, reports, audits, and internal controls.

- Review all daily financial transactions of the Department of Inspections and Permits utilizing the Accela LUN (Land Use Navigator) program. Ensures transactions are in the appropriate GL accounts and are accounted for in the Enterprise One financial system.
- Reconcile daily Internet financial transactions, prepare appropriate reports, troubleshoot transactions when necessary, and prepare monthly journal entries.
- Manage large-scale permit refund/release program for Permit Center utilizing Enterprise One Financial System and the Value Payment System.
- Reconciles and disburses Home Builder Guaranty Fund payments to the State of Maryland.
- Coordinate all departmental statistical data for inclusion in Arundel Stat. Work with department managers and supervisors to ensure data is relevant to the public. Process end-of-year closing, as well as projections and estimations for future years.
- Oversee the management, retention, and timely disposal of departmental records in compliance with legal, regulatory, and county policies.
- Design, implement, and oversee the department's training program to ensure staff development, skill enhancement, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Identify training needs and create customized training content to address skill gaps and align with department goals.
- Maintain training records, track employee progress, and ensure compliance with required certifications and training deadlines.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Considerable knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and processes governing the receipt, custody, and expenditure of monies.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of public finance administration and data processing systems as they apply to the maintenance of accounting records.
- Ability to prepare, interpret, and evaluate program proposals and modifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze and solve a variety of routine accounting and fiscal problems and to participate in designing and implementing accounting systems and procedures.
- Ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office, if necessary.
- Proficiency in data entry techniques and accuracy in handling large volumes of data.
- Knowledge of database systems to query, manipulate, and maintain data.
