Position Overview: As a Special Education Teacher for our Summer School Programs, you’ll lead and guide a classroom of eager students, working alongside a dedicated team of professionals. You’ll collaborate with parents, school districts, and other agencies to ensure students receive the highest level of support to meet their unique needs.
Program Dates:
- Summer Program: July 7th – August 15th
- Orientation Dates: July 1st & 2nd
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, from 8 AM to 3 PM
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Classroom: Take charge of your classroom and provide direction to a team of professionals and paraprofessionals.
- Supervise & Support: Oversee the work of classroom education staff, ensuring students receive the best possible support.
- Collaboration is Key: Work closely with parents, school districts, and other agencies to ensure student needs are met with care and excellence.
- Inspire and Motivate: Foster an environment of creativity, energy, and growth for both students and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- NYS Certification in Special Education (Initial Certification required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and currently pursuing a Master’s in Special Education
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift 50 pounds independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- New York State Permanent Certification in Special Education
- Master’s Degree in Special Education
- 2 years of experience with students with multiple disabilities
- Creative, energetic, and passionate about making a difference
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $27.70 to $38.79 per hour, based on experience, education and certifications.
