Job Description Job Description Outreach Specialists play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the proposed project by serving as the linchpin for cultivating vital partnerships with employers and community-based organizations. This position is indispensable for fostering strong relationships, aligning project goals with local interests, and maximizing community engagement.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (May include but is not limited to the following) : Partnership Development : Work directly with stakeholders to strengthen existing partnerships and develop new ones within the region.Employer Engagement : Collaborate with employers to develop new approaches for upskilling entry-level staff, including embedded incumbent workers and pre-apprenticeship training programs.Skill Enhancement Initiatives : Assist employers in exploring different avenues of support to upskill their workforce population and drive business productivity.Cultivating Partnerships : Actively engage with potential collaborators to foster strong relationships and align project goals with local interests.Community Engagement : Facilitate targeted outreach and recruitment activities between Monterey and Santa Cruz counties to reach the intended audience and maximize community engagement.Policy Alignment : Stay abreast of evolving local policies and initiatives by attending county committee meetings to ensure project synchronization with broader community objectives.Liaison Role : Serve as a liaison between the project team and external partners, ensuring seamless communication and assisting in executing partnership activities.Stakeholder Engagement : Work directly with stakeholders within the region to strengthen current partnerships and develop new ones.Technical Advisory Committees (TAC) : Invite employers within training programs' respective sectors to join TACs, providing valuable insight into industry changes, technology advancements, and workforce needs.Curriculum Support : Assist in curriculum development by participating in mock interviews and providing priority interviews to successful program graduates.Labor Market Analysis : Support programs' implementation by conducting extensive labor market analysis, employer insight, and workforce demand assessments.Program Sustainability : Ensure proposed occupational fields are sustainable and provide wages promoting self-sufficiency through thorough research and assessments.Campus Support : Collaborate with CET's three campuses in providing 10 training courses supporting local area goals.Update and Maintain client data – for FAP participants in the Cal Jobs system.Performs other duties as assigned.Transportation - to enable community engagement initiatives, will be required to drive a company van to various sites as needed.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIESCommunication Skills - strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.Time Management - excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a exceptional attention to detail.Technical Skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, internet systems, office and computer equipment.Customer Service and Professionalism - excellent customer relations, and written and verbal communication skills to work with internal staff and other agencies.Team Player - ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.Previous experience in community engagement, partnership development, or related roles.Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to adapt to evolving local policies and community dynamics.Familiarity with the Central Coast region preferred.Any combination equivalent to : a four year degree from an accredited college with major course work in field related to assignment orAn equivalent combination of experience, education and training related to the essential duties.Experience working with persons of diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYCET is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and it is our policy to be in compliance with all federal, state and local law relative to discrimination in employment.
