What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist position at Center for Extended Care at Amherst?
The Center for Extended Care at Amherst is seeking a Fulltime Registered Physical Therapist to join our Rehab department. The preferred candidate will have experience in a Skilled Nursing / Long Term Care setting. RPT to provide assessments, evaluations for pain management, mobility, strength and endurance, balance, coordination, gait and functional capacity. Candidate must be comfortable identifying goals and carrying out individualized treatment plans for differing functional needs. Expectation will be to work with both Short Term Rehab and Long Term residents to assist with increasing and maintaining optimal independent, individual function. Provides patient / resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment and consultation to a general rehab caseload. Participates in the clinical team process. Provides teaching and training to caregiver staff. Involvement in clinical program development. Supervises other therapists, assistants, aides and students as required.
