What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Women's Health Clinic position at Center for Family Health?
The Center for Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Jackson Michigan. Our mission is: Opening the Doors to Healthcare for All. We provide primary healthcare and dental services regardless of an individual's ability to pay.
We currently have a Women's Health RN Opening. This is an hourly, non-exempt full-time position.
Position Summary:
Assists providers with patient care through patient assessment, education and direct patient as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess patient needs from telephone or face to face contact by collecting relevant information concerning medical history, symptoms etc. and make determination concerning course of action.
- Initiate patient care based on assessment; enter new patient information into computer system, schedule appointments, override existing schedule as needed.
- Consult providers for assistance as needed.
- Follow-up with patient to assure appointments are met and/or condition improves.
- Order prescriptions according to clinical guidelines or per providers order.
- Assess patient for external or internal referrals (WIC, MIHP, Case Management) and follow-up accordingly
- Performs initial intake of prenatal clients per OB intake guideline.
- MIHP intake screening assessment and care planning.
- Prepares patients for examinations and treatments by completing medical history, and other required forms; collect and record patient vital signs.
- Assess routine prenatal clients, which may include fundal height and fetal heat tones.
- Assist and direct Surgery Scheduling and follow-up
- Perform walk-in pregnancy testing and other nurse visits.
- Provide education to all Women's Health patients regarding self-care, testing, procedures, and all aspects of pregnancy.
- Assists in completion of paperwork, which may include prior authorizations, DME, disability, etc.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work practices and instructions
Education/Training/Experience:
- Required to be an RN in the State of Michigan
- Previous nursing experience.
- Routine testing/training on various job-related skills and competencies.
