What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Prevention Coordinator position at Center for Family Life and Recovery?
As a Youth Prevention Coordinator, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the successful implementation of prevention programs, including fostering CFLR values. You will assist the Program Director in various aspects of program management, including quality control, budget tracking, staff development, and fostering teamwork. Key duties include supervising a team of school-based prevention specialists, youth-based prevention programs including Rome Life Center programming, developing reports, strategic plans, and assessments, and implementing Evidence-Based Programming as required. You will also actively seek and secure grant funding opportunities to support the growth of the prevention department. Building strong relationships with school districts and community organizations, attending relevant meetings and coalitions, and managing data collection and analysis through the WITNYS system are integral parts of your role.
Requirements:
Essential Functions:
- Assist Program Director with quality management, tracking budget expenses, performance management, staff development and delegation, fostering teamwork and ensuring program implementation.
- Supervise team of school-based prevention specialists in contracted school districts and communities
- Develop and write reports, work and strategic plans, and develop assessments and evaluations.
- Create and implement Evidence Based Programming as needed.
- Provide oversight for Rome Life Center youth programming.
- Source and complete grant funding opportunities for prevention department development and growth
- Establish and build relationships with school districts and community organizations.
- Attend and participate in local, regional meetings and coalitions as relevant to mental health.
- Data collection reporting through WITNYS system and analysis.
- Create job descriptions and coordinate hiring within the school-based prevention team.
- Create and implement organizational and referral-based documents to aid in data collection and efficiency.
- Co-facilitate prevention team meetings.
- Marketing and networking to build collaborative partners to increase prevention services and programs.
- Support and help promote education and awareness for websites, social media, prevention monthly newsletter, virtual and in-person presentations and trainings.
- Build collaborative relationships with local, regional, and state level community agencies and supportive services.
- Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of bachelor’s degree in related human service field in psychology, addictions, social work, education, human services, social science or related field is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with mental health, substance use and behavioral issues.
- Demonstrated ability in public speaking, program development/implementation, data analysis, and excellent writing skills.
- Current and valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
