POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Nurse in our Residential Treatment Center, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, providing compassionate and skilled nursing care to residents in a therapeutic environment. The Nurse encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at promoting physical well-being, ensuring the safety of residents, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support comprehensive treatment plans
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Comply with funding source, contract, and or program's Annex A.
? Complete required documentation within established timeframes per Federal, State, County, and agency regulations, policy, and procedure.
? Core Responsibilities for Job Role/Sector:
o Patient Care:
? Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for residents with mental health and behavioral health needs.
? Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and address any emergent medical issues in collaboration with physicians and psychiatrists.
? Provide routine and crisis intervention nursing care to residents in accordance with
established protocols and standards of care.
o Collaboration with Treatment Team:
? Work closely with psychologists, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare
professionals to contribute to comprehensive treatment planning.
? Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss residents' progress, update treatment plans, and ensure a cohesive approach to care.
? Provided training to residential staff.
o Health Education:
? Educate residents on health-related topics, medication management, and self-care strategies. ? Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement health promotion initiatives within the residential setting.
o Documentation and Record Keeping:
? Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
? Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards related to patient confidentiality and medical record documentation.
o Crisis Intervention:
? Respond to medical emergencies and crisis situations promptly and efficiently.
? Collaborate with the crisis intervention team to manage and de-escalate acute situations while ensuring the safety of residents and staff.
o Health and Safety Compliance:
? Adhere to infection control practices and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. ? Collaborate with facility leadership to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
? Train and ensure all staff are complete with medication managements, dietician needs, and physical health and wellness needs of the youth.
