The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking is seeking a Program Director to lead our Outreach Programs primarily based in Waterbury, CT with additional oversight in Torrington and Hartford. This role provides supervision and support to outreach coordinators and oversees day-to-day operations of programs serving formerly homeless or institutionalized adults. The Program Director ensures strong team performance, fosters community partnerships, and promotes effective service coordination.
Your role as an Outreach Program Manager:
The Outreach Program Director oversees clinical and operational functions across multiple outreach sites, providing direct supervision to staff and ensuring safe, person-centered services for clients. Key responsibilities include developing treatment and crisis plans, training and evaluating staff, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, managing client records and audits, and driving program quality. The Program Director also builds strong connections with community agencies and helps shape outreach strategies that support client stability and recovery.
REQUIRMENTS:
- Master’s degree in a human services field preferred
- At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with psychiatric needs
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills
- Ability to build relationships with community partners and service providers
- Experience with staff training, client advocacy, and service coordination
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to manage crisis situations, excellent judgment
- Reliable automobile and valid driver’s license required
- Approved criminal background check (CORI)
