Center for Humanistic Change of New Jersey, Inc. CHCNJ is seeking a person with experience in community-based residential services to fill the position of Community Living Director.  This is a middle management, hands-on position that is responsible for direct supervision of designated group home managers, as well as direct care and program coverage as needed in the absence of the program manager.


Some of the responsibilities of the Community Living Director include:

  • Promotion and implementation of CHCNJ philosophy
  • Recruitment, hiring, training and direct supervision of House Managers in designated programs
  • Coordination of the hiring process for direct care staff in designated programs 
  • Regular visits to designated programs to ensure that programs operate up to the standards of CHCNJ, state and local regulations
  • To ensure the continuation of quality care in the absence of the House Manager in designated programs
  • Participation in quality improvement meetings, tasks and reviews
  • Agency after-hours on call responsibility.


Qualifications for the Community Living Director position include:

  • Appropriately related background and knowledge of community-based, residential service associated with adults with developmental disabilities.
  • A minimum of two years supervisory experience
  • A degree in Human Services or a related field


Minimum requirements for employment at CHCNJ:

  • 18 Years of Age
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Acceptable Driving Record
