What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Medical Receptionist position at Center for Interventional Pain Management?
We are a well-established, busy, single-physician interventional pain and aesthetic practice looking for the right person to join our work family. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM — no weekends or holidays. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and visitors warmly and professionally
- Check in patients, collect IDs and insurance cards, and accurately enter and scan documents into Athena (our EMR system)
- Assist patients with completing registration and financial forms
- Answer phone calls promptly and professionally for patients wanting to schedule an appointment. Route other calls to appropriate staff in the office
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of appointment slots
- Verify insurance eligibility for appointments
- Collect co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, or outstanding balances from patients. Reconcile payments at the end of the day and prepare/upload necessary documents.
- Conduct chart preparations, register new patients, update existing patient records
- Maintain organized and confidential patient records
- Coordinate communication between patients, staff, and providers
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
- Support smooth daily clinic operations and participate in cross-training for other roles
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist (preferred)
- Knowledge of Athena or similar EMR/practice management software (a plus)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and remain professional under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
