The Center for Jewish History, together with the Anne Frank House is seeking passionate and engaging Exhibition Experience Guides to support visitors to “Anne Frank The Exhibition” that will open in January 2025. About the Exhibition:
“Anne Frank The Exhibition” at the Center for Jewish History offers a powerful and immersive experience that brings to life the story of Anne Frank, her family, and the historical context of the Holocaust. Through a combination of original artifacts, multimedia displays, and interactive elements, the exhibition provides a deeply moving and educational journey for visitors of all ages.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate with the Visitor Experience team to welcome school groups and introduce them to the exhibition.
- Supplement age-appropriate tours of the exhibition for student groups.
- Facilitate the distribution of pre- and post-visit learnings developed by the exhibition organizers to deepen students' understanding of Anne Frank's story and its historical context.
- Support teachers in integrating the exhibition content into their curriculum through the resources created by the exhibition organizers.
- Assist in the development and implementation of educational materials as needed.
Qualiifcations:
- Background in Holocaust studies, Jewish history, or related fields desired.
- Experience in museum education or teaching, particularly with K-12 students.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to different age groups.
- Sensitivity in handling emotionally challenging subject matter with young audiences.
- Familiarity with Anne Frank's diary and its historical context.
- Retired teachers, young historians with a demonstrated passion for bringing history to life, actors with experience in historical interpretation or educational theater, and museum enthusiasts with experience in visitor engagement are encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor's degree in History, Education, Museum Studies, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in exhibition spaces with controlled lighting and sound environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a high traffic environment, interaction with a diverse range of visitors.
