Center for Life Management (CLM) offers the most comprehensive mental health services in the region for children and their families. Our multi-disciplinary treatment team provides compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals ages 3–21 experiencing mental health challenges and serious emotional difficulties.
As a Children’s Family Clinician, you will provide therapeutic services to children, parents, and guardians, delivering family therapy both in-office and in the community, with the option for telehealth sessions. This role is ideal for a clinician skilled in engaging children and families to address behavioral, emotional, and relational challenges effectively. This is a full time, 35 hour per week position and is considered non-exempt in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties
- Provide individual therapy for children and adolescents to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral problems, and interpersonal difficulties.
- Conduct family therapy sessions to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen family relationships.
- Assess client needs and create treatment plans that are tailored to the individual child and family.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, or other modalities, to support child and family needs.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians to provide guidance, psychoeducation, and support in managing children’s behavioral and emotional concerns.
- Work with families in both office settings and in the community, adapting therapeutic interventions as appropriate for each environment.
- Provide set hours of billable therapy service each week to meet key performance indicator (eligible for incentive pay upon exceeding productivity expectation).
- Offer telehealth therapy sessions to clients who prefer or require remote care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and supervision to maintain licensure and enhance therapeutic skills.
- Function professionally and in a manner that protects the integrity, confidentiality and rights of all patients.
- Represent CLM in a professional and appropriate manner in all settings.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or related field.
- Licensed or license-eligible (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent).
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and techniques for working with children and families.
- Ability to work effectively in both individual and family settings and adapt to community and telehealth environments.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable managing diverse caseloads and adapting to varying family dynamics and therapeutic needs.
- Ability to acquire and effectively practice new clinical skills as needed according to evolving agency needs/services.
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in routine, urgent, and emergent clinical situations.
- Ability to actively engage with children and conduct interactive play within a therapeutic setting.
- Proficient computer skills, specifically with all Microsoft office applications.
- Ability to document effectively and efficiently in course of clinical work.
- Ability to navigate an electronic health record.
- Ability and desire to work as part of a clinical team while also able to be self-directed and motivated with minimal supervision.
