POSITION: MAINTENANCE TECH I
Working Unit: Administrative/CCCT
Hours: Monday – Friday; 8 AM-5PM; Flexible

General Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, and with considerable latitude for independent judgment, The Maintenance Tech I perform semi-skilled work to care for the buildings and machinery of CFLR. The work involves maintaining and repairing buildings, stationary equipment, and/or motorized equipment. Instructions are received in oral or written form, and work is reviewed and inspected periodically by the Maintenance Supervisor. Inspects building and grounds, including assigned out-county offices, and completes appropriate paperwork. Responsible for preventative maintenance such as filter replacement on air conditioners, heating units, etc. Responsible for tools and equipment used. Performs related work as assigned, such as minor plumbing repairs, minor carpentry, minor electrical, etc. May be required to construct equipment and jigs for workshops. Be willing and available to perform emergency repair/maintenance needs at the Center or our-county offices, regardless of time.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a standard high school or GED equivalent is required. Should have some experience in building maintenance and repair. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License with driving record to comply with Center for Life Resources policy. If selected for this position, employee must give CFLR authorization to request copy of driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Must be able to satisfactorily complete required staff development training.
The Center for Life Resources prefer applicants who are already living in or are willing to move to the 7-county catchment area within 90 days of their hire date. Our catchment area includes the counties of Brown, Eastland, Coleman, Comanche, San Saba, Mills and McCulloch.
