Thistle Farms is seeking a dedicated and innovative Content Marketing Manager to drive growth and engagement among our donor and customer base. This role will focus on providing our community with the tools, assets, and education needed to effectively share our mission and expand our impact. This will also include managing a team that handles Thistle Farms’ social media presence. This role will report to the Marketing Director and work cross-functionally with the Communications, Sales, and Development Departments. Thistle Farms is located in Nashville, TN. This will be a hybrid position.

Job Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • Directly manage the Marketing and Social Media Coordinator, and Founder’s Outreach Content Specialist.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handle discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Approve mileage, expenses, and time off requests within the department.

Duties / Responsibilities :

Content

  • Develop high-quality evergreen content for our donor and customer base, with a focus on acquiring new supporters and fostering deeper engagement among existing community members.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop compelling content that resonates with our audience and inspires action (across digital, video, print, etc).
  • Create compelling and mission-aligned content for fundraising and sales campaigns and advise teams on using content across various platforms.
  • Collaborate with Senior Ambassador-Graduate Advisor on historical knowledge-based content.
  • Create, organize, and distribute educational materials, resources, and toolkits to empower supporters to share our mission and advocacy efforts effectively.
  • Cultivate an internal team of brand ambassadors and content creators to increase the frequency of authentic and diverse video content.
  • Lead the creation of social-first video content or leverage internal resources to produce video content for digital advertising campaigns.
  • Contribute to Thistle Farms blog content using SEO best practices in collaboration with the Communications Director and Ecomm & Website Specialist.
  • Report on content-related initiatives to provide key learnings and insights for future optimizations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in community engagement and content marketing, sharing insights and recommendations with the organization.
  • Manage Founders Outreach Content Specialist with goals, tracking, and professional development to ensure alignment with Thistle Farms’ organizational goals.
  • Social Media

  • Manage and strategize Thistle Farms’ social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, to drive awareness, engagement, and support for our mission through sales and donations.
  • Provide social media best practices, templates, and training to The Café’s staff to create and share their own social content that highlights the cafe’s offerings, staff stories, and local hospitality.
  • Nurture relationships with a small network of influencers to increase brand awareness during key marketing and development activations.
  • Manage Marketing & Social Media Coordinator with goals, tracking, and professional development to further social media engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Required Skills / Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communication or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in written and video content production with proven demonstrable success.
  • Social awareness and emotional intelligence to navigate complex and sensitive topics.
  • Experience working in non-profit spaces and / or a trauma-informed care setting is ideal.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently. Strong ability to set priorities and solve problems.
  • Technically adept and experienced with online tools and systems.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
