This position is responsible for the design and implementation of a wide range of institutional print materials and signage. The graphic designer works closely with the design and publications team to develop the quarterly member newsletter and other design elements that promote the center’s exhibitions and programs. This team member plays a vital role in communicating clear and enticing messages to our audience.
Job Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions
- Design print materials, which may include member newsletters, invitations, educational brochures, fundraising materials, catalogs, flyers, print ads, and posters
- Design digital files for use in promoting exhibitions and events on social media and various other screen-based platforms
- Design signage to clearly communicate with museum visitors, including, but not limited to, wayfinding signage, digital screens, and donor recognition
- Participate in collaborative planning and design development processes
- Solicit and evaluate multiple quotes from outside vendors, contractors, and printers
- Manage project development and production schedules for assigned tasks
- Participate in departmental budgeting
- Tracking of project expenses compared to budget
- Work effectively with volunteers and interns
- Coordinate projects with outside contract designers when necessary
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent. A background in art history is a plus.
Work Experience
The ideal candidate will have one to three years of experience in print-based graphic design and production.
