Purpose : To administer the day-to-day HR operations in alignment with USN’s mission and with a focus on best practices, continuous improvement, and making USN a great place to workJob Responsibilities Oversee the Human Resources Management System using USN’s current vendor, including all aspects of the employee life cycle from the prospective employee through the exit processDevelop recruitment strategies, showcase USN as an employer of choice, support hiring managers, oversee the creation of appropriate hiring documents, maintain interviewing guidelines, provide needed training to hiring committees, and ensure successful employee orientation and onboardingManage and optimize payroll and benefits programs and administration, including payroll, time and attendance, wellness initiatives, leave requests, vendor management, compliance, and employee communication, among othersServe as lead for coordination, communication, and administration of Benefits Open Enrollment and for new employee onboarding.Provide support and development on interviewing skills, employee coaching, performance management, training and development resources, and other employee-related topicsTrain and support supervisors in documentation and follow-up that may be required in situations involving an investigation and / or a Performance Improvement PlanLead efforts associated with important employment-related policies and practices including those related to diversity, equity, and inclusion and standards of employee conduct and maintenance of the employee handbookBuild ongoing employee communication including maintenance of the HR Resource portal on the USN’s websiteAddress employee relations issues sensitively, fairly, and clearly; manage employee separation processes as requiredMaintain USN’s set-up on the Folio Collaborative website, USN’s professional growth and goal-setting platform, ensure the roster is current, and provide training and technical support to all usersEnsure compliance with federal and state statutes / laws such as FMLA and ADA, providing direct support to the employee and guidance to the supervisor for individual circumstancesCoach and train other employees who support the human resources functionEstablish an open, trusting, and welcoming presence with employees and be available to answer questions and help with problem-solving on any issues or concernServe on the ODCL Hiring and Retention Committee and school renewal committees, attend meetings of the USN Board of Trustees HR Subcommittee, and join other committees as needed and appropriatePerform other duties as determined by the Chief Financial Officer and, in some cases, the DirectorQualifications Five years of relevant experience including 3 years of human resources experience required; preference will be given to those with education and / or nonprofit experience, as well as those with experience working in inclusive communitiesProfessional certification through HRCI or SHRM requiredDemonstrated human resources knowledge and experience, with increasing responsibilities over timeExperience working with data and analytics to inform human resources strategiesSkills and AbilitiesProject management, problem-solving, and people management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPossess a track record of personal productivity and impact, and prioritize effectively for maximum impactPossess strong interpersonal skills conducive to working with a collaborative team and instrumental in establishing and sustaining effective working relationshipsPossess mathematical and system management skills needed for the effective operation of the Human Resources Management System, as well as to support payroll and decision-making.Be flexible with time and availability, as neededEager involvement in school life beyond daily responsibilitiesAct with integrity and honor confidentialityAdditional Information Competitive salary and benefits package, including 403b match.Opportunities for professional development and growth.A collaborative and supportive work environment dedicated to excellence.#J-18808-Ljbffr
