GENERAL FUNCTIONS
The Employer Engagement Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining strategic partnerships with employers, primarily focusing on building and strengthening employer connections that benefit workforce development programs and potential sponsorship opportunities for the Center for People. The role also involves promoting employment opportunities that align with program participants' career goals and
employer needs. Achieving key performance targets will be essential to this role, along with creating meaningful connections that lead to long-term employment solutions. The Coordinator will also identify local, in-demand jobs and add them regularly to ensure that program participants have access to relevant and timely opportunities.
I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Establish and nurture strategic relationships with employers to expand job opportunities, ensuring key performance outcomes, and strengthening employer connections for workforce development and partnership opportunities.
· Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness of employment opportunities through the Talent Marketplace.
· Maintain regular contact with employers to ensure job postings remain current, contact details are accurate, and employers stay in good standing as Employers of Choice.
· Achieve business objectives related to Employer of Choice outreach and onboarding.
· Coordinate job shadowing opportunities between participants and Employers of Choice, providing hands-on experience and networking.
· Organize and host virtual tours with employers, allowing participants to explore workplaces remotely.
· Promote and conduct career fairs, connecting participants with employers across industries.
· Facilitate lunch-and-learn events with local businesses to showcase the Center for People's talent pool and services.
· Plan and conduct Second Chance Employer Pledge events, educating employers on the benefits of hiring second-chance individuals.
· Recruit professional mentors and connect program participants with suitable mentors for career development.
· Facilitate check-ins, deliver curriculum, and support 5 Keys Classes authorized by the Nebraska Department of Corrections to support justice-impacted individuals.
· Offer a holistic continuum of care for justice-impacted community members, ensuring access to resources, emotional support, and skills development for workforce reintegration.
· Collaborate within the Education Department to plan and facilitate quarterly cohort workshops for participants, mentors, and employers.
· Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with businesses in and around Lincoln that align with the Eight Good Jobs Principles established by the Department of Commerce and Labor.
· Advocate for a shared vision of job quality, engaging with businesses, labor unions, workforce advocates, and government agencies.
· Collaborate with businesses to implement policies that enhance worker well- being, job security, fair wages, and career growth opportunities.
· Facilitate discussions and initiatives that support all-encompassing hiring and career advancement pathways.
· Provide resources, training, and guidance to help businesses align their workforce strategies with Good Jobs Principles and promote long-term economic resilience.
· Monitor and assess the impact of partnerships, using data and feedback to refine approaches and improve job quality outcomes.
· Analyze local employment trends and labor market data to identify growth opportunities and make informed program decisions.
· Develop and update placement strategies to align participant skills with employer needs for successful job placements.
· Align training curricula with job trends and commerce needs to contribute positively to the economic viability of the community, businesses, and city.
· Represent the Center for People at community meetings, workforce development task forces, associations, and trade unions to strengthen partnerships and sponsorship opportunities.
· Document interactions and services provided to program participants, ensuring accurate performance tracking.
· Collect and document longitudinal data to support the effectiveness and impact of the Talent Marketplace program.
· Add local, in-demand jobs to the Talent Marketplace weekly to keep employment opportunities up to date.
· Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet organizational needs, including occasional evening and weekend hours.
· Manage time effectively and work independently to achieve organizational goals.
· Operate in accordance with all contracts, government regulations, and Center for People policies and procedures.
· Exhibit high integrity and maintain ethical professional boundaries in all interactions and decisions.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational success.

III. DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
● A bachelor’s degree in education, social work, organizational development, or a related
field is preferred, OR a minimum of 2 years of work experience in supervision, case
management, career or education counseling, or related field.
● Valid Nebraska driver’s license and current motor vehicle insurance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
● Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent
● Must 18 years of age
