Job Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Fiscal Director with a strong background in nonprofit finance and grant management. This leadership position will oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, and fiscal compliance requirements. The Fiscal Director works closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization’s mission and goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all financial operations, including budgets, payroll, payroll taxes, 403b plan, and internal controls.
- Maintain all financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner for state, county and grant funding sources.
- Provide all aspects of fiscal grant management and assure compliance with all fiscal requirements.
- Oversee the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the ED; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; and monitor progress and changes.
- Represent the agency in all fiscal matters involving state, county and grant funding sources.
- Offer guidance on tax-related decisions.
- Monitor and manage the agency’s cash flow to support strategic financial planning.
- Prepare schedules for annual audit and fiscal portion of site reviews.
- Liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors, including attending monthly meetings.
- Supervise and guide fiscal staff, promoting a cooperative and efficient work environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excl and knowledge of QuickBooks a plus.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required.
- 7 years of experience working in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- A strong background in nonprofit management.
- Proven experience with financial management, including developing and implementing financial strategies, managing budgets, overseeing financial reporting, and grant management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively across teams.
Work Schedule:
This position is full-time and requires on-site attendance.
