About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned General Counsel to lead our legal team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide strategic guidance on complex legal matters.
This role involves advising various teams on contract drafting, negotiation, and review. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in regulatory compliance, clean energy law, secured transactions, and lending. You will also need to stay up-to-date with applicable laws and industry guidance that may impact the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance on legal matters related to contracts, loans, and insurance agreements
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and procurement agreements
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks
You will be a strong fit for this role if you have:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the Nebraska State Bar (or ability to become)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in corporate defense, legal research, and writing, or regulatory compliance
- Strong organizational decision-making skills and experience working collaboratively with executive leadership
