What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Coordinator position at Center for Sight, PC?
Responsibilites :
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival and check-out pts upon leaving
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Collect and update patient information in the electronic medical records system
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Assist with insurance verification billing processes and filing vision insurance claims
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
- Open/Prepare exam and testing rooms for the day
- Close exam and testing rooms at the end of day
- Clean/Disinfect exam and testing rooms in between each patient and at the end of the day
- Ensuring exam and testing rooms are stocked and informing management when supplies are low
- Maintain patient flow by making sure exam rooms are full
- Read patient’s spectacle rx on Lenometer and document
- Perform Auto refraction on patient
- Check IOP (iCare) on patient and document
- Preform Optos imaging on patient
- Determine if dilation is needed and then if so dilate patient
- Check patient’s visual acuity and document
- Setting the phoropter and lighting for the doctor
- Collect Medical/Ocular History from patients including medications
- Assist doctor during exam with any procedures if/when needed
- Perform Visual Field test on patients (Octopus)
- Perform OCT (Heidelburg) scan on patients
- Check patients Stereo when needed
- Check patients Color Vision
- Coordinate with referring physicians as needed
- Help other technicians as needed
- Check inbox for task
- Return patients messages from voicemail and follow up calls as needed
Skills:
- Experience working in a medical office or similar administrative support role
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

Employee will be expected to work check in, check out, or tech depending on the day.
Check in and tech position is 8-5.
Check out comes in between 8:15-8:30 depending on the day and leaves after all patients have checked out which is usually by 6pm each day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
