Center For Siouxland’s Case Manager is a full-time professional, direct service position responsible for providing case management and advocacy working with program participants who have a mental and/or physical disability and are participants in the Representative Payee Program. This position is responsible for engagement, assessment, intervention, and coordination of services to ensure participants’ housing, income, health, and basic needs are met.
Position Responsibilities
- Serves as a liaison to Social Security Administration to monitor and maintain clients’ eligibility for benefits
- Maintains responsibility for developing and establishing an initial budget for clients (payees) and revises the budget as situations and needs change.
- Plans for, and distributes client money on a regular schedule, and pays client bills on a timely basis
- Accurately assesses bills and requests funds based on an individual’s current financial status
- Confers and negotiates with landlords, utility companies, and businesses on behalf of the client regarding payment of bills
- Coordinates with clients’ mental health providers to develop information and documentation regarding changes in clients’ situations that may impact eligibility
- Maintains the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all aspects of job performance
- Provides crisis intervention for clients when necessary
- Works as part of a team to provide a continuum of quality services
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in social work, human services, or related field
Experience:
- Professional experience in one or more of the following: nonprofit, social work, human services, budgeting, social security
Skills:
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple projects and set priorities to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and solve problems
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Computer literate and working knowledge of Microsoft products and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems.
- Must be a team player, willing to assist at all levels of the organization
Job Type:
- Full-time – Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Salary:
- Starting at $35,000/year depending on experience
