What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Center for Spine, Joint, Neuromusuclar Rehabilitation?
Medical Assistant needed to work under the direct supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician’s Assistant. Our office has a locations in Mount Juliet and Murfreesboro. The individual taking this position will need to be able to travel with the provider.
Our Office hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday and 7:30 to 12:00pm on Friday. We do offer benefits and PTO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• vital signs, i.e. pulse rate, blood pressure, etc.
• Keeps proper inventory in pods/area for efficient daily operations
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
• Cleans, sterilizes and prepares instruments for physician or mid-level procedures and assists in procedures as needed
• Assists in laboratory testing, durable medical equipment, IM injections, etc.
• Keys and maintains data into EMR to maintain office and patient records
• Assists in training employees, when necessary
• Answers phone notes responding to telephone operators, patients, pharmacies, and other medical offices, etc.
• Complies with departmental protocol and processes
• Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to work independently and/or with a team
• Additional duties may be assigned
Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED completion or equivalent combination of education and experience
• One year certificate for Medical Assistant from college or technical school; or minimum six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior customer service or administrative/clerical experience preferred
