Join the Center for Supportive Communities (CSC) in our mission to create meaningful change using behavior science. We're seeking dedicated AmeriCorps members for the 2025-26 school year to work with children and teens in our SupportEd program. SupportEd is a community-based initiative supporting school students and their families while offering hands-on clinical experience for young professionals. Help keep youth out of court and on the path to success by implementing evidence-based interventions and collaborating with top human service and legal agencies in Kansas.
Position Details:
- Dates: August 2025 – May 2026
- Time Commitment: Flexible, 10-20 hours per week
- Location: Douglas County, Kansas (Lawrence, Eudora, Baldwin City, Perry Lecompton)
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintaining a caseload of 2-4 students
- Facilitating weekly community meetings
- Providing support and mentoring
- Implementing interventions and assisting with homework
- Collaborating with stakeholders and agencies
- Completing documentation and progress reports
- Attending trainings and meetings
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation
- Background in human services or related field preferred (including pursuit of degree)
- Experience working with children and families desirable
