Summary
The IT Manager will manage day-to-day operations and IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware. The IT Manager will handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration, track and maintain hardware and software, recommend and implement upgrades, and provide training.
The IT Manager will manage and oversee network maintenance, ensuring we consistently operate securely and keeping current on the best solutions and practices.
The IT Manager will report to the Director of Operations and manage the organization's technology infrastructure and operations in partnership with the IT managed services provider and vCIO.
The position will exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.
Responsibilities (not all-inclusive)
- Develop and implement forward-thinking IT policies to ensure security, compliance, and efficiency
- Perform cost-benefit analyses for potential computer system upgrades to support purchase decisions
- Manage the administration of user profile and identity management systems, company databases, file storage, networking, cybersecurity, IT hardware, and productivity applications
- Ensure network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitor solutions
- Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors, and continue to find areas for improvement
- Provide orientation, education, and training sessions to end-users for new, existing, and modified computer systems
- Support and maintain network and computer system security by performing regular security tests and security monitoring
- Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
- Serve as company administrator for company tools, including Salesforce, Okta, Box, etc.
- Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups
- Supervisor IT Department staff and day-to-day planning of activities
- Support the financial aspects of the IT department, including budgeting and procurement activities.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Five or more years of experience in IT management, with a strong focus on time management, organization, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving
- In-depth knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including networks, servers, databases, cybersecurity, and cloud computing
- Excellent communication and team management skills with the ability to effectively interact with IT stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Desired Skills and Knowledge
- Advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Professional certification
