The Center for Transportation Research (CTR) is looking for a passionate and driven sales, communications, or marketing student to join our #GetConvinced program team! The CTR #GetConvinced program educates East Tennessee teens on the importance of safe driving through high school and community events featuring tools like our seatbelt convincer and other highway safety demonstrations.
This internship offers more than just sales experience—it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. As an intern, you’ll work to secure funding and physical donations from local businesses to support our life-saving educational program. You’ll have the chance to connect with business leaders, develop persuasive pitches, and represent our cause in the Knoxville community.
We’re seeking someone who is confident, personable, and comfortable reaching out to businesses via email, phone, and in-person visits. Ideally, you’d also be willing to drive our branded #GetConvinced van, which helps build credibility during these interactions.
This role is perfect for students pursuing a career in sales or leadership, offering hands-on experience while contributing to a cause that saves lives. Applicants must be current students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The position requires an average of 10–15 hours a week, with a pay rate of $15/hour. We prefer students to have at least one full weekday free for local travel, and you must have time available on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays during work hours for weekly or bi-weekly meetings in-office.
