What are the responsibilities and job description for the Immigration Attorney Trainee position at Center for U.S. Immigration Services?
The successful candidate will:
• Be prepared to train, acquire knowledge, and professional skills in Immigration Law practice
• Oversee the operation and management of a standalone facility in Detroit, Michigan Area
• Oversee immigration benefit applications
• Oversee court related matters within the facility or those referred from other facilities
• Train and supervise support staff of assigned facility
• Provide leadership in firm marketing and outreach support as it relates to the facility
• Implement company policies and strategic plan for an assigned facility/branch office
• Participate in management meetings as may be required from time to time
• Assist in administering and enforcing company policy & procedure manual
• Work closely with the human resource department to ensure great hiring as may be required
• Learn effective use of the firm’s practice management software (including uploading retainers, payment authorization, alerts, and effective use of NOTES)
• Acquire in-depth knowledge of the firm’s telephone (Phone-Link) and Practice Management platforms
• Track the cost of operating assigned facility
• Review monthly and quarterly performance report with the Chief Executive
Officer
• Ensure that the assigned facility breaks even financially within 3 months of commencing operation and becomes profitable thereafter
• Any other activities mandated by company management
Requirements (Experience/Qualifications):
The ideal candidate will have:
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school or foreign Juris Doctor equivalent with an LLM degree from an accredited U.S. law school, plus a license to practice law in one or more of the U.S. fifty states jurisdictions.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.
• Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
• Ability to manage facility’s day to day operations.
• Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate.
• Two-year law practice management experience or participate in on boarding training
Travel Requirement: Infrequent.

Base Pay: Per Employment Agreement

• Excellent computer skills required including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
