The overall purpose of the Grant & per Diem Driver is to support all the transportation needs of the Grant & Per Diem program. This includes the transportation of both goods and individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities
We are an EEOC/AA/ADA employer.
- High School diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record being able to be added to the CVI-approved driver list with the insurance company
- Pass a background check as it pertains to the position
The overall purpose of the Grant & per Diem Driver is to support all the transportation needs of the Grant & Per Diem program. This includes the transportation of both goods and individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport members (Veterans) to and from Veterans Administration appointments
- Transport all meals from VETS Place Central to Boudicca House daily
- Time management skills to ensure duties are completed in a safe and efficient manner
- Courteously interacts with veterans, staff, both internal and external
- Courteously interacts with internal and external customers, ensuring customers are serviced professionally and on time.
- Pick up donations from donors as needed
- Deliver drug and alcohol tests to the VA lab
- Maintain a separate log of all trips for each vehicle
- Detailed inspection of transportation vehicles on a weekly basis
- Daily inspection of each vehicle each morning prior to the first trip of the day
- Maintain separate vehicle inspection logs for each vehicle
- Take vehicles for routine service and maintenance
- Maintain vehicles, i.e. getting gas and keeping vehicles clean and free of clutter
- Other duties as requested or assigned
