The Center for Women and Families - Art Therapist

The Art Therapist role helps to move toward our vision of thriving survivors in safe communities!
The Center for Women and Families provides free services to anyone who has experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We help our clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of their trauma by reducing their risk factors and building resiliency. We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana.
The Art Therapist is responsible for facilitating individual, group, and family counseling with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault using brief, evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Gathers information for intake assessment. Conducts intake interviews and completes individual assessments of client's status and required comprehensive services.
- Conducts brief therapeutic interventions to facilitate individual and group sessions, crisis intervention, and client education groups with survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
- Maintains knowledge of current methodology and treatment trends and demonstrates proficiency with clients.
- Assists in coverage of crisis lines and shelter as assigned.
- Other relevant duties and core competency functions of a clinician as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
- Licensed to practice a mental health discipline under Kentucky laws (LPATA or LPAT)
- Experience with trauma-informed care is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements.
- Fluency in languages other than English are a plus!
