Job Summary
The Director of Community Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, oversight, and continuous development of The Center’s non-24-hour Community Services Programs, including Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Prevention, Outreach, and Education services. This position ensures the effective implementation of programs, staff supervision, budget management, and community partnerships to enhance awareness of The Center’s services. The Director of Community Services collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to address interpersonal sexual and domestic violence and promote best practices in service delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Oversight

Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of Community Services Programs.

Ensure alignment of services with The Center’s mission and strategic goals.

Oversee program operations, ensuring adherence to best practices and evidence-based approaches.

Monitor program performance, outcomes, and quality assurance metrics.

Identify service gaps and recommend program improvements to enhance client outcomes.

Represent The Center at community events, coalitions, and partner agency meetings.

Oversee prevention and outreach initiatives, ensuring accessibility and effectiveness of services.
Staff Support and Supervision

Supervise and support program leadership, including the Supervisors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Southern Indiana Programs.

Conduct regular one-on-one supervision sessions and team meetings with direct reports.

Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities for staff.

Participate in hiring, training, and onboarding of new team members.

Facilitate conflict resolution and ensure adherence to organizational policies.

Coordinate internal and external training sessions for staff, volunteers, and interns.
Community Engagement and Collaboration

Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.

Develop and execute outreach initiatives to enhance community awareness of services.

Serve as a liaison to external agencies, ensuring effective collaboration and resource-sharing.

Participate in relevant state and regional coalitions and professional networks.
Compliance and Reporting

Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, grant requirements, and program regulations.

Collaborate with leadership to prepare reports evaluating program effectiveness.

Oversee data collection, client documentation, and program audits.

Ensure staff maintain accurate records and comply with reporting requirements.

Lead performance improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.
Financial and Administrative Management

Work with the Finance Department to develop and monitor program budgets.

Oversee program-related financial transactions, including purchases and expense reconciliation.

Approve invoices and purchase requisitions within budgetary guidelines.

Ensure proper allocation and use of financial resources to meet program goals.

Participate in grant applications, renewals, and compliance monitoring.
Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

A minimum of three to five years of experience in program management and supervision is required.

Experience in managing community-based advocacy or crisis response programs is preferred.

Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets agency automobile insurance requirements if driving a company vehicle.
