Job Summary
The Supervisor of Facilities is responsible for the maintenance, safety, and functionality of all Center properties, ensuring that buildings and systems operate efficiently and meet all safety regulations. This role oversees preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, vendor coordination, and team supervision to ensure all facilities remain in optimal condition.
Working closely with the Director of Facilities, the Supervisor will manage all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, security, housekeeping, and groundskeeping. This position requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond quickly to urgent maintenance issues while staying within budgetary constraints.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Facilities Maintenance & Operations
- Oversee the preventive maintenance program for all Center properties to ensure long-term structural integrity.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting systems, security, restrooms, kitchens, laundry facilities, and other critical infrastructure.
- Diagnose facility-related issues, replace or repair parts, test systems, and make necessary adjustments.
- Respond to urgent daily maintenance needs, including equipment repairs, electrical wiring, and plumbing emergencies.
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment while maintaining compliance with budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure timely execution of work orders and maintenance projects.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and building codes across all Center locations.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls, including those for the 24-hour residential site.
- Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to ensure facilities operations support a safe environment for clients and staff.
Vendor & Project Management
- Work with external vendors and contractors to oversee maintenance and repair projects.
- Inspect vendor work to ensure high-quality service and compliance with Center standards.
- Plan and schedule routine maintenance projects, escalating concerns about facilities conditions to Leadership as needed.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise Facilities Team employees, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with all members of Center Leadership to ensure the safe execution of facilities and maintenance tasks.
- Provide ongoing support, mentorship, and development opportunities for the Facilities Team.
Skill Requirements
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues quickly and effectively.
- Project management and vendor coordination skills to ensure high-quality facility operations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to supervise a team and collaborate across departments.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to oversee multiple projects at once.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software.
Experience & Education Requirements
- Completion of a vocational/technical program in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance, or building operations.
- HVAC technician certification and/or general contractor license preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements, if operating a company vehicle.
- Must have a successful background check.
- Fluency in languages other than English is a plus.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, and up to 70 pounds with assistance.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders to complete maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varied weather conditions.
- Work may include responding to emergency maintenance calls after hours.
- Ability to work in high-stress environments, requiring emotional resilience and adherence to self-care practices.
