The Center for Women and Families – Therapist

The Center for Women and Families is looking for compassionate and skilled individuals driven by a desire to help others! The Therapist plays a critical role in supporting survivors by providing trauma-informed counseling and crisis intervention.
The Center for Women and Families provides free services to anyone who has experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We help clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of trauma by reducing risk factors and building resiliency. We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky, and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana.
The Therapist is responsible for providing brief therapeutic interventions, facilitating individual, group, and family counseling, and assisting clients in crisis management and community resource navigation. This position works closely with internal teams and community partners to ensure survivors receive comprehensive support.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions, including intake interviews, assessments, and crisis intervention for adults and children.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records and client statistics.
- Offer consultation to internal staff and external agency partners as needed.
- Develop and provide in-service training for staff and community organizations.
- Participate in case conferences, agency meetings, and professional training.
- Maintain required certifications, licensure, and supervision expectations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Licensure required: Independently licensed to practice in Kentucky (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, LPCC-S, etc.).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in trauma-informed therapy, sexual assault, or victim advocacy services.
- 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with children and families, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong clinical expertise in trauma therapy and crisis intervention.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team-building abilities.
- Proficiency in case management systems and digital documentation tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Continuing Education: Must maintain a minimum of 16 CEUs annually, with 6 specific to sexual assault-focused care.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work is primarily conducted in a professional office and clinical setting.
- Some field-based and community outreach activities may be required.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and utilize digital documentation tools.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within service areas.
- Background check required.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in trauma-informed and evidence-based practices.
- Fluency in languages other than English is a plus.

Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
