CWI Works is recruiting for an Administrative Support Assistant position within the Experience Service Program (ESP) that provides support to the United States Department of the Interior, National Capital Parks-East in Washington, DC.
Role and Responsibilities: Provides administrative and clerical support to include payroll, property and preparing for purchasing.
- Prepares a wide variety of correspondence and documents, including finalizing draft correspondence, reports, permits, DI-1s, travel documents and other related documents. Prepares travel itineraries, makes reservations, prepares travel vouchers as needed from provided information, and maintains contact with travelers to assure timely submission of travel documents.
- Serves as a timekeeper. Reviews time and attendance reports for employees and assures reports are correctly entered into QuickTime.
- Establishes and maintains multiple computer databases with the goal of maximizing database information. Establishes detailed cross-reference databases for retrieval of information. Prepares computer-generated reports as needed.
- Uses word processing and/or database software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print a variety of standardized documents, using a glossary of pre-established formats, form letters, standard paragraphs, and mailing lists. Types in final form from notes or drafts, correspondence, including letters, memorandums, and reports checking for proper format
- May perform other duties required to support the operation of the division.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; HS/GED; Skill in typing and using word processing and other software. Comprehensive knowledge of office procedures and routines to provide administrative support. Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SharePoint a plus. Knowledge in Zoom/Teams meetings (adding documents, formatting, searching, assisting others to find data and information). Office work and onsite visits to learn park resources, walking trails and other outdoor areas.
Hours & Compensation: Part-Time position working 24 hours per week @ $22.00 per hour; 6-12 month project.
